UPDATE! Kentec Electronics Statement Regarding Coronavirus (COVID 19)
Monday 23rd March 2020 23 Mar 2020
Dear Kentec Customers and Visitors,
In an effort to provide you with information on the potential impact of the Coronavirus for Kentec, please read the following statement:
We are following all guidance issued by the UK Government and international/overseas Governments and we will continue to operate as normal as possible given the current global situation and support our customers with supplies of products.
We have already implemented all the precautions advised and taken further measures to eliminate the potential risk, particularly in regards to:
- Employee welfare – We have now introduced working from home for the majority of most of our office staff, social distancing for the factory staff and staggered shift patterns to further mitigate contact whilst helping to ensure no disruption.
- Visitors welfare – Since last Monday we are no longer accepting visitors, however we are set up to provide technical support and training remotely – using telephone, web and other digital platforms.
- Continuity of supply of products and services remains positive and well-placed to support our customers demands.
- Transport and logistics- Currently our distribution of completed goods is not affected and deliveries are being maintained.
We are fully operational and believe the measures we have in place will ensure continuous supply.
We also request that all meetings can be held using telephone, web and/or conference call facilities.
Kentec’s route of supply for electronic components is through UK/European distribution. These companies have confirmed they have a considerable amount of stock of Kentec parts. Kentec also provides them with a rolling 12-month forecast to allow them to hold sufficient stock and buffers for Kentec’s sole use. Furthermore, both Kentec and our key suppliers arranged for additional stock to be held at our and their premises to cater for any disruption in relation to Brexit which did not come to fruition.
As you can appreciate we can only react to the current situation and we believe Kentec should not see any issues supplying products in the short- to medium-term.
In the longer-term, we would like to suggest that for us to protect our customers and get ahead of any potential risk, a product forecast is supplied to our sales/customer services team for them to be able to plan and guarantee the longer-term deliveries.
We thank you for your continued support and also wish all our customers the very best in these challenging times.
