As a part of our Wellbeing Week, several employees from Kentec Electronics and our sister company, Hochiki Europe, undertook ‘job swaps’ – a great way of sharing knowledge and increasing collaboration across the group. Our Customer Quality Engineer, Adesoji Aleji, took part in a job swap, and here’s what he had to say about the experience.
The job swap at Hochiki Europe was a great experience and provided a valuable opportunity to learn more about their operations, processes and teams coordination. I spent time working with colleagues in Quality unit including inspection, documentation, repair and testing. I also had a full tour of their facilities and a brief discussion with the various units across different functions. This gave me useful insight into their approaches and best practices and helped me develop a better understanding of how our organisations work together as part of the group.
I worked mainly with Lee, shadowing his day‑to‑day activities. One particularly valuable outcome was identifying a potential traceability issue linked to a new internal system. By spotting it while the system was still being tested, the team was able to raise it early and explore a solution before launch.
The experience was a great example of how sharing knowledge and working closely across the group can help us improve our processes and learn from one another.
